A place to call home
Georges River 16ft Sailing Club has been described as a hidden gem. Many do not know of our existence but when they experience the view from within the club it is breathtaking for them.
We are located on the beautiful sandy shores of Botany Bay with our main lounge overlooking the beaches, across the superb waterfront views of Botany Bay towards Towra Point and Woolooware Bay.
In 2018 and 2019 we will be rejuvenating, repainting and refurnishing. We have already replaced much of our air-conditioning ready for summer.
We respect that we do not have passing traffic and that our visitors make a conscious decision to patronise our club.
Our aim is to make GRSC a destination point by creating a friendly and relaxed ambience with the customers journey foremost in our minds – a place to call home.
What we Offer
Like most Clubs, we offer excellent facilities but with a difference.
Relax with friends in the Main Lounge offering superb waterfront views across Botany Bay in “The Room with a View.” Grab a cocktail at sunset to finish off the weekend in style.
We have many dining options including a Bistro and Restaurant. Light snacks are available from the Café. All have the superb beach and water views.
The Sails Waterfront Bar and Grill Restaurant is open Wednesday to Sunday specialising in fresh seafood.
The Bistro is open 7 days a week for Lunch and Dinner.
A variety of free live entertainment is supplied for the enjoyment of members and visitors in the main lounge on Saturday nights.
We also are a great choice for your next function in our Conference Venues from 50 to 180 guests – also with a view. Our Bottle Shop allows you that last minute option to entertain at home and is open till closing time or 11pm (Sundays 10pm)
“ On a day when the wind is perfect, the sail just needs to open and the world is full of beauty. Today is such a day”
Sailing is in our DNA
Georges River 16ft Sailing Club was formed in 1927 originally racing 16ft Skiffs. The open sailing waters of Botany Bay are recognised as ideal for juniors to learn and progress. With the sandy beach area and the large grassed rigging and direct access to the water, the Club has hosted regattas for many interstate and international teams. During the season you can watch the juniors of different skills racing around in front of the club.
