Georges River 16Ft Sailing Club renovation project
At Georges River 16Ft Sailing Club, we are thrilled to be commencing Stage two of the $10 million renovation project on 16 February!
Stage 1 of renovations focused on the function spaces and has brought a warm, relaxed and modern ambiance that we are excited to extend throughout the club.
There will be several phases in this second stage which have been carefully planned to ensure minimal disruption to members and guests throughout. However, the final phase will involve a short closure period of approximately 8 weeks so that we can replace the lift and staircase as quickly and safely as possible.
The renovation program includes several phases outlined below:
* A new state-of-the-art kitchen, which will see work taking place around the old function kitchen, the snooker room and storage rooms back of house.
* Once the new kitchen is operational and able to service the bistro and function rooms, we will demolish the old kitchen and work will commence in the southern area of the bistro and alfresco area.
* The final areas to be renovated will include the bar, remaining bistro area, sports bar, administration offices and the and gaming lounges. It is during this period when the temporary shutdown will occur to allow for essential works on the lift and stairs.
During the shutdown period, we will be offering training and upskilling for our team as well as shifts at our other venues when available. Our target is then to reopen in September to unveil the stunning new look for your club.
