We’re thrilled to share news about the ongoing renovations at the Georges River 16ft Sailing Club and share the plans for our second stage of renovations. Stage 1 of renovations focused on the function spaces and has brought a warm, relaxed and modern ambiance that we are excited to extend throughout the club. We hope to begin works on Stage 2 in early 2025. The artist impressions and plans have been on display in the club and the feedback from members has been great.
Stage 2 will be focused on the remaining areas on level 2 which, to date, have not been renovated aside from the removal of some internal walls. Members and guests can look forward to a refreshed, contemporary look and feel in the main dining space, either indoors, or through new louvred windows which take advantage of our uninterrupted water views. It will provide the perfect location for enjoying a meal or drink while soaking in the beautiful surroundings.
The kitchen will be moving from its current corner location, and we will be creating purpose-built kitchen featuring an open section to provide a window into all the action. This modern kitchen will enhance our food offerings and ensure you have a front-row seat to our chefs’ creations.
A dedicated sports bar is on the way with an alfresco terrace, along with pre-function areas perfect for mingling before events. These spaces will be ideal for catching the big game or gathering with friends.
We will also be creating a brand new indoor and outdoor gaming lounge and moving the snooker tables to a new home, offering plenty of entertainment options for members and guests.
