During Day Light Savings (Oct-Apr) weekly events run at 6:15pm every Tuesday afternoon, plus Sunday morning social paddles once a month. Events are based around the wind and weather conditions at the time & range from 2-5km races to 6km downwind paddles plus several race series throughout the year.
Safety is paramount and a rescue boat follows the races to ensure the safety of all members.
Several race formats are run depending on conditions. Races include: 2km, 3km & 5km on several different courses. The club caters to all levels of paddlers with several classes of boards including 14ft, 12’6″ & non race boards. We encourage new paddlers to test themselves against the clock to improve their times each and every week.
During summer we are usually blessed with some strong N/E winds which is perfect for a downwind run from Kyeemagh back to our club house. Botany Bay is the perfect place to learn the art of downwinding & again the safety boat follows our progress. The Clubs courtesy bus will drop members back to their cars which saves the usual car shuffle.
During the year the club holds mini race series which involves a 3 week block of events where you receive points for your placing in the weeks event. Your points are added up over the 3 week period for an overall winner in each class for both Male & Female.
Members usually head upstairs to the club after each event for a cheap meal, a drink and to laugh with fellow members. Families are welcome and the beach is a great place for the kids to play.
